Every team's biggest priorities heading into the draft, updated after free agency.

How to explore team needs on Big Board Lab: Each of our 32 Team Insights pages breaks down roster depth charts, free agency signings and departures, scheme analysis, and pick inventory. Needs are tiered: Tier 1 (critical — must address early), Tier 2 (important — should address by Day 2), Tier 3 (depth — can wait for value). You can also ask our GM Chat why a specific team might target a position, or use Scout Vision to see which prospects fit each team's scheme. This list reflects post-free agency reality as of March 26, 2026.
Top needs: EDGE, CB, WR
The Bills retooled their defense but still need a premier pass rusher opposite Gregory Rousseau. Corner depth thinned in free agency, and the receiver room needs a true #1 after the Diggs era.
Top needs: OT, EDGE, LB
Protecting Tua remains priority #1. The left tackle spot is a glaring hole and this OT class is deep enough to address it in Round 1. Pass rush and linebacker depth are secondary concerns.
Top needs: OT, EDGE, WR
The Patriots invested in the secondary during free agency, freeing them to address the offensive line and pass rush in the draft. They need a franchise left tackle and a receiver who can win outside.
Top needs: OT, QB, CB
The Jets need to protect their quarterback — whoever that is. Offensive tackle is the most critical need on this roster. If they move on from their current QB situation, this draft has the depth to address both.
Top needs: WR, EDGE, CB
Lamar Jackson needs weapons. The Ravens have been trying to find a true WR1 for years and this loaded receiver class is the opportunity. Pass rush depth and cornerback are also priorities.
Top needs: EDGE, S, OT
The Bengals need pass rush help badly. They also lack a true free safety and could use an upgrade at right tackle. This is a team that's one edge rusher away from being a serious contender again.
Top needs: QB, WR, OT
Complete rebuild mode. The Browns need a franchise quarterback, weapons for him to throw to, and protection to keep him upright. They have the draft capital to address all three in the first two days.
Top needs: OT, WR, CB
The Steelers need to address the offensive line, particularly at tackle. A young receiver to develop behind the current group is also a priority. Cornerback depth took a hit in free agency.
Top needs: EDGE, CB, IOL
The Texans are in win-now mode around C.J. Stroud. They need a pass rusher who can be the second wave behind their current group, corner depth, and interior line reinforcement.
Top needs: WR, EDGE, S
Anthony Richardson needs weapons. The Colts' receiver room is thin and they need a true #1 target. Pass rush and safety are defensive priorities after free agency departures.
Top needs: OT, EDGE, CB
Trevor Lawrence needs better protection. The Jaguars have holes at both tackle spots and need a pass rusher to pair with Josh Allen. Cornerback depth is also a concern in a division with elite receivers.
Top needs: EDGE, DT, S
The Titans are building around their new defensive scheme under Saleh. They need a LEO (wide-9 edge rusher), an interior disruptor, and a safety who can play in their Cover-3 shell.
Top needs: CB, OT, EDGE
The Broncos need a true #1 corner after losing their top option in free agency. Offensive tackle and edge rusher depth are also areas to address as they try to build around Bo Nix.
Top needs: WR, EDGE, IOL
The Chiefs can afford to draft best player available, but a dynamic receiver to pair with Mahomes and a young edge rusher are the obvious upgrades. Interior line depth is always a priority in their system.
Top needs: QB, OT, EDGE
The Raiders hold the #1 overall pick and quarterback is the overwhelming need. After that, offensive tackle and pass rush depth define the rest of their draft. This is a full rebuild with premium draft capital.
Top needs: EDGE, IOL, LB
Jim Harbaugh's team needs a pass rusher who can win one-on-one. Interior line help and a linebacker who can run and cover are also priorities in their defensive scheme.
Top needs: EDGE, S, OT
The Cowboys are transitioning to a 3-4 defense and need edge rushers who can play in that scheme. Safety and offensive tackle are also critical after multiple departures.
Top needs: QB, WR, OT
The Giants need to find their franchise quarterback. In a draft with 5+ first-round receivers, they could double-dip on offense early. Tackle help is also critical.
Top needs: CB, LB, S
The Eagles' defensive needs are well-documented. They need a corner who can play man coverage in their scheme, a linebacker, and safety depth. Offensive needs are minimal.
Top needs: EDGE, OT, DT
Dan Quinn's defense needs a premium edge rusher. The offensive line also needs a long-term answer at tackle. Interior defensive line depth rounds out the top three needs.
Top needs: EDGE, DT, S
The Bears need to build a defense around Caleb Williams. Edge rusher and interior defensive line are critical, and safety became a top need after free agency. The DJ Moore trade also opened a WR need.
Top needs: CB, EDGE, DT
The Lions are a contender who needs defensive help. Cornerback is the glaring hole — they need someone who can cover in their aggressive scheme. Pass rush and interior line depth are also priorities.
Top needs: EDGE, DT, S
The Packers need pass rush help in their 3-4 defense. An interior disruptor and safety depth are also on the list. The offense is set — this draft is about defense.
Top needs: OT, CB, EDGE
The Vikings need to protect Sam Darnold (or his replacement) and find a corner who can play across from Byron Murphy Jr. Pass rush depth is always a priority in Brian Flores' defense.
Top needs: EDGE, CB, S
The Falcons need defensive playmakers across the board. A premium edge rusher is the top priority, followed by secondary help. The offense is built — it's time to invest in defense.
Top needs: OT, EDGE, CB
The Panthers need to protect Bryce Young. Left tackle is a premium need, and this OT class has the depth to address it. Edge rusher and corner are defensive priorities in the rebuild.
Top needs: QB, OT, EDGE
The Saints need a long-term quarterback and an offensive line to protect him. They're in transition and this draft needs to establish the foundation for the next era.
Top needs: EDGE, CB, DT
The Bucs need pass rush help after losing key pieces. Cornerback and interior defensive line depth are also priorities. Todd Bowles' defense needs playmakers to execute his aggressive schemes.
Top needs: QB, OT, EDGE
The Cardinals may need to find Kyler Murray's long-term replacement or upgrade the roster around him. Tackle and pass rush are critical needs regardless of the QB decision.
Top needs: EDGE, CB, OT
The Rams need to replace the pass rush production they've lost over the past two seasons. Cornerback and tackle help would round out a roster that's still competitive with Stafford and Kupp healthy.
Top needs: EDGE, CB, WR
The 49ers need pass rush help in their 3-4 front. Cornerback is also a need after secondary departures. A receiver to develop behind the current group would add insurance.
Top needs: EDGE, CB, IOL
The Seahawks need a pass rusher who can generate consistent pressure. Cornerback and interior offensive line are also key needs as they try to build a contender around Geno Smith's replacement plan.
