Chandler Rivers
Duke
Scouting Report

Rivers is a junkyard dog nickel prospect who sees the game three steps ahead of most cornerbacks in this class. His zone processing and route recognition are legitimately elite — he reads quarterback eyes, uncovers route concepts before the ball is out, and puts himself in position to make plays that lesser processors never see. The size (5'9⅜, 185) is what it is: he'll get bullied on the boundary by NFL-caliber X receivers and his press technique lacks the length to hold up snap after snap. But in the slot, running pattern-match zone, and flying downhill on screens, this is a Day 1 contributing nickel with a dependable floor and an outside shot at becoming a scheme-specific starter in the right defense.

Pro ComparisonJourdan Lewis

Both are undersized cornerbacks who compensate with elite instincts, quick reaction skills, and a fearless mentality in the run game. Lewis carved out a productive NFL career as a nickel defender despite similar size limitations, which is Rivers' most likely path.
