Scouting Report

Long-strider with legitimate deep-shot ability who can take a short catch and turn it into a 40-yard gain — 560 YAC and 27 missed tackles forced in 2025 confirm the after-the-catch juice is real. At 6-3 and 205, McAlister has the frame to play outside and the acceleration to stress defensive backs vertically, leading all FBS receivers in yards per route run against man coverage (4.0 via PFF). But the tape is not without red flags: an abysmal intermediate contested-catch rate (1-of-10 per deeper film study), concentration drops on easy balls, and a route tree that leaned heavily on slants, posts, and go balls. The off-field baggage — a felony gun charge pled down and a mid-season team departure at Boise State — will push him off boards entirely for some franchises. If the character clears, you're getting a WR3/4 with legitimate WR2 upside whose explosive play ability justifies a Day 3 gamble.

Pro ComparisonDemarcus Robinson

Similar size, ability to win at all three levels, and capacity to turn short catches into big plays. Both are long-striding receivers whose route refinement limits their role early but whose speed and YAC ability provide real Week 1 value as complementary pieces in a vertical offense.
