Eric Rivers
Georgia Tech
Scouting Report

Rivers is a speed-first vertical threat whose 4.35 wheels and explosive release off the line force defensive backs to respect the deep ball every snap. His route tree is more developed than you'd expect from a speed-only archetype — he wins with tempo changes at the stem and has the body control to track underthrown deep balls in stride. The drop problem (8.0% career drop rate) is real and concerning for a player who will live on the margins of an NFL roster, and his 5-10, 176-pound frame limits his ability to win contested catches or survive physical press at the next level. He's a classic boom-or-bust Day 3 dart throw who could stick as a WR4/WR5 and special teams flyer, or wash out entirely if the concentration drops don't clean up — the margin for error at his size and role is razor thin.

Pro ComparisonRashid Shaheed

Similar undersized speed archetype who must create value as a vertical threat and special teams contributor. Both win with pure speed rather than a refined route tree or catch radius, and both face questions about whether they can be more than a one-dimensional deep threat at the NFL level.
