Garrett Nussmeier
LSU
Scouting Report

Nussmeier is a rhythm-and-timing pocket passer who operates with the command and pre-snap savvy of a coach's son raised on NFL film. When the offense is humming and he's on schedule, the ball placement over the middle of the field is elite — he layers throws over linebackers with anticipation that's among the best in this class. But the gunslinger mentality that fuels his best plays also triggers his worst: he forces throws into windows that aren't there, and his arm — while quick-twitch and adequate in velocity — doesn't have the juice to consistently bail him out of those decisions at the NFL level. The 2025 abdominal injury clouds everything, creating a massive gap between his 4,000-yard 2024 film and the diminished 2025 tape. If a team buys the 2024 version and puts him in a West Coast system with good protection, you're looking at an Andy Dalton-caliber starter; if the 2025 version is closer to the truth, he's a sharp backup who keeps a team afloat for a few games.

Pro ComparisonAndy Dalton

Jeremiah's primary comp, and it maps cleanly: similar undersized frame, timing-based passing game, adequate arm, strong pre-snap command, can manage a good offense to wins but lacks the physical tools to elevate bad situations. Dalton was a second-round pick who started for a decade — that ceiling/floor range fits Nussmeier's profile well.
