Jadon Canady
Oregon
Scouting Report

Feisty, instinct-driven nickel corner who reads quarterbacks' eyes like a seasoned veteran and triggers on routes before receivers declare their stems. Canady's competitive fire and coverage IQ — evidenced by a top-10 PFF cornerback grade and a 39.4 passer rating allowed — are legitimately impressive for a player built like a slot receiver himself. The 5-10, 181-pound frame with 30-inch arms is a hard ceiling limiter: bigger slot receivers will body him at the catch point, and his over-aggressive tendencies get exploited by double moves at the NFL level. He's a Day 3 bet on the brain winning against the body, and in a zone-heavy defense that keeps him reacting to quarterbacks rather than chasing receivers in man, there's a legitimate starting nickel in there.

Pro ComparisonMike Sainristil

Bleacher Report explicitly comped Canady to Sainristil's 6.9 grade from the 2024 draft. Similar profile: undersized, versatile defensive back who earned his stripes as a nickel corner with elite instincts and coverage IQ. Both carry size concerns that limit them to the slot, with competitive fire and football smarts compensating for physical limitations.
