Kamari Ramsey
USC
Scouting Report

Ramsey is a cerebral safety who processes route combinations and quarterback intent faster than almost anyone in this class — his eyes are his best trait and they'll translate immediately to a split-safety scheme. From two-high looks he reads like a savant, triggering downhill on screens and shallow crossers before the ball is released, and his fluid transitions in off-man make him a legitimate tight end eraser. The problem is everything below the neck: a 21% missed tackle rate in 2024 is borderline disqualifying for a safety, the run defense grades are soft regardless of alignment, and while his 4.47 speed is adequate, he lacks the recovery burst to play single-high or chase vertical routes when stacked. The knee injury complicating a limited 2025 sample at nickel — where he clearly doesn't belong long-term — makes this a scheme-dependent projection with real starter upside if deployed correctly and real backup risk if asked to do too much.

Pro ComparisonXavier McKinney (developmental)

Multiple sources comp Ramsey to McKinney as a fluid mover on the backend who is aggressive in coverage responsibilities. Like McKinney entering the league, Ramsey needs significant work on ball production and tackling consistency but has the coverage instincts and versatility to become a long-term starter if those areas develop.
