Kolbey Taylor
Vanderbilt
Scouting Report

Taylor is a physical specimen at cornerback — 6-3, 190 pounds with a 40-inch vertical, 11-foot-2 broad jump, and three appearances on Bruce Feldman's Freaks List. The Tariq Woolen comparisons are rooted in body type and raw explosiveness, but the on-field production has never caught up to the physical gifts: one career interception across four college seasons, modest pass-breakup numbers in the SEC, and documented maturity concerns including suspensions and unsportsmanlike penalties. He's a pure projection play — if a coaching staff can harness the length, speed, and ball skills that the athletic profile promises, there's NFL cornerback upside hiding in there. But the tape shows a player who hasn't put it together consistently against high-level competition, and at his age as a graduate senior, the developmental runway is shorter than most traits-over-production gambles.

Pro ComparisonTariq Woolen (developmental trajectory)

The body type, athletic profile (elite length + explosive jumping ability at CB from a Group of 5 background), and late-bloomer projection path mirror Woolen's pre-draft profile. However, Taylor lacks Woolen's combine-tested speed data and has less production to validate the physical gifts. This is the ceiling outcome, not the likely outcome.
