Xavian Sorey Jr.
Arkansas
Scouting Report

Former five-star recruit who took the scenic route to NFL draft relevance, finally putting it together with back-to-back productive seasons at Arkansas. Sorey is a smooth, rangy linebacker who covers ground effortlessly and has legitimate coverage instincts — he tracks the ball in the air like a safety and has soft enough hands to make plays on it. The problem is everything between the tackles: he's not a violent tackler, doesn't seek contact with blockers, and his 220-pound frame gets washed in the run game against NFL-caliber offensive linemen. The Senior Bowl showed a player capable of flipping the switch, but the consistency just hasn't been there across a full season. He's a developmental coverage linebacker who needs a scheme that lets him run and chase rather than stack and shed.

Pro ComparisonFrankie Luvu (early career)

Similar athletic, undersized linebacker profile who needs a specific scheme to maximize coverage ability and sideline-to-sideline range while hiding limitations against the run. Luvu needed time to develop before becoming a productive NFL contributor.
